Welcome to the new TIDAL Developer Portal! This blog is where we’ll share key updates with the developer community. Today, we’re excited to share that the TIDAL Developer Beta is now open!

What are we building

We want to build high-quality products that empower artists to thrive as entrepreneurs while connecting them more deeply with fans. The developer community is essential to shaping and inventing products to create economic value for artists.

Open philosophy

Today marks the first step in making TIDAL a more open platform. It’s also the first time we’re making a subset of our Web API available to developers outside Block and TIDAL for beta testing. We believe in taking an open approach to development and hope this beta will bring us closer to the developer community, resulting in more creative solutions for fans and artists.

Laying the groundwork

This is the beginning of a more open TIDAL. Starting today, we’re inviting developers around the world to access our API and query and search our metadata. They can now utilize artist names, contributors, tracks, and published information related to music tracks. As part of the beta, we’re inviting developers to use our Github forum to ask questions and share feedback. Contributions from the developer community will be crucial in the long-term effort of shaping TIDAL’s open platform.

How to access our Web API beta

  • Sign up for TIDAL Developer credentials by clicking the login link from the website. Either use an existing TIDAL account, or create a new trial account to gain access to our Developer Platform.

  • Accept our Developer Terms and other required legal documents.

  • Register a new application in the Dashboard

  • Obtain a Client ID and Client Secret.

  • Retrieve the OAuth Access Token by specifying your Client ID and Client Secret.

  • Send your first Web API request!
